Is Online Learning Better Or Worse Than Offline Learning?

Online learning has practically replaced traditional classroom learning during this pandemic. Students, parents, and teachers alike have all had problems regarding the system of online education. But due to Covid-19, this method of studying was not an option but a compulsion.

Both online and offline learning have their benefits and drawbacks. The benefits of online learning, which are also considered drawbacks of offline learning, are as follows:

  1. It is cost-effective: One of the best parts about online learning is that you do not have to travel anywhere. So the cost of travelling is saved. In offline learning, you have to travel to your school or college. Along with travel expenses, there are a lot of expenses that are added to the fees of the school. Although none of these expenses can be ignored or neglected when it comes to offline learning, online learning does eliminate a couple of them. Like a math scanner app, saves so much money.

  1. It is accessible anywhere: Online learning, unlike offline education, can be accessed anywhere and everywhere as long as you have an internet connection. It is easy to log in to your account and watch your lecture. You do not have to go through the trouble of travelling to and from your school or college. You can even access a question solving app from the comfort of your homes and have your doubts solved.

  1. Flexibility in attendance: Students do not have to be physically present in class during online lectures. Therefore, they can record these lectures and watch or listen to them any time of the day, according to their convenience. The teachers do not have to waste their energy explaining the same topic to their students again.

There are various disadvantages to online learning, also considered advantages of offline learning, as well. Some of them are:

  1. Attention span: The drawback of online learning is that there is no way of telling if the student is concentrating or not. It is not the same thing to watch a class online instead of sitting in class and hearing your teacher speak. Students also cannot concentrate on the lecture when it is on their screen, as opposed to when they are present in class.

  1. No commitment: Students do not commit to attending the class on time. They can do whatever they like behind the screen and not pay attention to what is being taught in class. Offline learning has this advantage since students are not forced to avoid distractions since they are studying with other students who are also concentrating on what their teacher is saying.

  1. No personal touch: The thing with online learning is that the personal touch of a teacher is absent in this scenario. The students do not have the will to study when they are taught on a screen. Learning in a classroom ensures that students can concentrate better when surrounded by other students who are all doing the same thing and listening to the teacher. While you may be tempted to talk to your friends, the teacher can still keep an eye on the entire class with ease. Here apps like Snapsolve comes to the rescue with no personal touch but help.
