How Learning English Can Change Your Life Completely

Learning a second language can significantly alter your personal and professional life.

Since we live in an interconnected world, more and more jobs are advertising positions where knowing more than one language is required.

Employees are frequently asked to travel for work, strengthen these relationships, or be relocated abroad as more companies trade internationally and develop relationships with other countries.

Learning a second language can provide you with insight into other cultures in addition to increasing your chances of landing a good job or advancing in your career. You will be better prepared and more confident to travel the world and learn about other people’s cultures. You will also get some speaking practice while you’re at it.

Why learn English pronunciation instead of one of the 6,500 other languages that are currently spoken worldwide? As the world’s third most widely spoken language, English is widely spoken and taught in over 118 countries and is widely used as a trade or diplomatic language around the world. Science, aviation, computers, diplomacy, and tourism all use it. Finally, it is the language of international communication, media, and the internet. All in all, English is everywhere.

Here are the most important reasons to learn English:

It is a widely spoken language

This is perhaps the most important factor to consider when considering why learning English is important. One in every five people on the planet (the entire planet!) can speak or understand English. It’s an extremely useful language for travel and communication.

It is the Language of the Media

The majority of online content is written in English. Many of the world’s most important news outlets, including television, newspapers, magazines, and radio, are in English. Some of your favorite films, TV shows, and pop music are most likely in English. English is the international language of media and arts, so it’s the most powerful language you can learn today if you want to access as much as possible for yourself without relying on translations!

It facilitates travel.

Because English is spoken as a first language in 53 countries and as a second language in over 118, learning the language makes travel much easier. Airport announcements, train schedules, emergency information, and street signs are frequently available in English, even in countries where the native language employs a different alphabet. It is no secret that if you travel to a country where you don’t speak the language, you will almost certainly find someone who understands at least some English.  English will not only help you get around, but it will also make it easier to interact with other travelers and even locals while traveling. This can help to make your journey more enjoyable and rewarding.

It is corporate jargon.

English is the dominant business language, and speaking English has almost become a requirement for people who want to work in a global workforce. Companies are becoming more international, and English is being listed as a required skill for an increasing number of jobs. According to global research, cross-border business communication is most commonly conducted in English, and many international companies expect employees to be fluent in English.

Learning a second language can be both tricky and rewarding. While learning and perfecting your English may take years and if you want an American or a British accent, it takes even longer, the reasons listed above should serve as motivation. Take your first step toward freedom and knowledge with them in mind!
